A hot-pressed elbow is an elbow manufactured using the hot-pressing process. It is produced by heating a pipe, forming it with professional equipment, then cutting and heating it above the critical temperature, holding it for a certain period, and quickly immersing it in a quenching medium to cause an abrupt temperature drop, achieving rapid cooling at a rate greater than the critical cooling rate.

Treatment Methods:

1. Quenching is a heat treatment method in which the elbow is heated above the critical temperature, held for a certain period, then rapidly placed in a quenching medium to achieve an abrupt temperature drop and rapid cooling at a rate exceeding the critical cooling rate, resulting in an unbalanced structure dominated by martensite. Quenching can increase the strength and hardness of steel but reduce its ductility. Common quenching media used in quenching include water, oil, alkaline water, salt solutions, etc.

2. Normalizing is a heat treatment method in which a hot-pressed elbow is heated above the critical temperature to fully transform it into uniform austenite, followed by natural cooling in air. Normalizing can eliminate network cementite in hypereutectoid hot-pressed elbows. For hypoeutectoid hot-pressed elbows, normalizing can refine the lattice and improve comprehensive mechanical properties. For elbows with low requirements, using normalizing instead of quenching is relatively economical.

Manufacturing standards can be divided into national standard, electrical standard, water standard, American standard, German standard, Japanese standard, Russian standard, etc.

Application: Hot-pressed elbows are used where pipelines need to change direction, so they are widely applied in fields such as chemical industry, civil use, construction, industrial production, etc.
