A straight tee is a type of tee fitting. Tees are generally divided into two categories: straight tees and reducing tees. They are named so because all three ends can be connected to pipes. Straight tees are widely used in the construction and maintenance of engineering projects in industries such as petrochemicals, petroleum and natural gas, liquefied gas, chemical fertilizers, power plants, nuclear power, shipbuilding, papermaking, pharmaceuticals, food hygiene, and urban construction. Industrial applications impose high pressure requirements on such pipe fittings, with a maximum pressure of up to 600 kg, while water pipes in daily use have lower pressure, typically 16 kg.

Since tees are applicable to various industries, they can be classified into the following types based on different criteria:

The designation methods are as follows: for a straight tee, for example, "T3" indicates a straight tee with an outer diameter of 3 inches. For a reducing tee, for example, "T4×4×3.5" indicates a reducing tee with a main diameter of 4 inches and a branch diameter of 3.5 inches.
