Product Features: Socket unions, pipe caps and lateral tees are all formed by die forging and machining. Hot blank cutting at die forging temperature for socket unions, pipe caps and lateral tees has become increasingly common. Especially for flash removal forging conducted on mechanical presses, forging presses and screw presses, the die forging process requires the volume of steel materials to be adjustable at any time, which cannot be achieved with pre-cold-cut blanks. The combination of hot shearing and computer weighing technology can deliver significant economic benefits. Blanks are heated before die forging to improve their toughness, reduce deformation resistance, facilitate forming, and obtain favorable metallographic structures. Therefore, blank heating for socket unions, pipe caps and lateral tees is an indispensable and critical procedure in hot forging production. Two heating methods are adopted for blanks in the die forging process of the above products: electric heating and flame heating. The reference pipes matched with 3000-pound grade socket unions, pipe caps and lateral tees are Sch80 and Sch80s; those for 6000-pound grade products are Sch160; and those for 9000-pound grade products are XXS. Socket unions include single-socket socket unions and double-socket socket unions. Socket unions, pipe caps and lateral tees feature high pressure resistance and stable operational performance.
