Conical Head

Due to its shape, especially large and medium-sized conical heads, generally cannot be formed as a whole. They need to be processed in sections and then assembled and welded into an integral unit. The processing and manufacturing of the cone top section is relatively difficult due to its small diameter.

Conventional Process for Manufacturing the Cone Top Section:

The cone top section is assembled and welded from formed petals. First, the petal blanks are pressed into shape using molds, and the petals are trimmed to size.

They are then assembled and welded into the cone top section. This process can be applied to the manufacturing of both flanged (flanged at the small end) and non-flanged cone top sections. The manufacturing procedure is as follows: cutting petal blanks — pressing petal blanks — forming — trimming the joint edges between petals — assembling petals into an integral cone top section — welding — trimming the large and small ends of the cone top section — reshaping with molds (if required) — non-destructive testing (repair any unqualified welds as specified until qualified) — heat treatment (if required).

Packaging: Fumigation-free wooden cases and pallets. Special packaging can be provided according to customer requirements.
